TITLE 675 FIRE PREVENTION AND BUILDING SAFETY COMMISSION

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 675 IAC 21-1 to update Elevator Safety Code provisions. Amends 675 IAC 21-3 to adopt the 2007 edition of ANSI/ASME A17.1, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, with amendments. Amends 675 IAC 21-4, ANSI 10.4, American National Standard Safety Requirements for Personnel Hoists and Employee Elevators for Construction and Demolition Operations. Amends 675 IAC 21-8 to adopt the 2005 edition of A18.1, Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts. Adds 675 IAC 21-9 to adopt the 2005 edition of ANSI A17.3, Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators, with amendments. Adds 675 IAC 21-10 to adopt the 2007 edition of the ASME QEI-1, Standard for the Qualifications of Elevator Inspectors, with amendments. Adds 675 IAC 21-11-1 to adopt the 2005 edition of ASCE Standard 21, the Automated People Mover Standards Part 1, with amendments. Adds 675 IAC 21-11-2 to adopt the 2008 edition of ASCE Standard 21, the Automated People Mover Standards Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4, with amendments. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher. Statutory authority: IC 22-13-2.
