Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on September 19, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at the Indiana Department of Health, 2 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Department of Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule (LSA Document #22-395) to amend 410 IAC 6-8.3 to update definitions and other provisions to reflect current terminology, standards, and best practices regarding the design, installation, construction, maintenance, and operation of residential on-site sewage systems.
The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments from the public prior to consideration of adoption of these rules by the Indiana Department of Health. All interested persons are invited and will be given reasonable opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed amendments.

Copies of this rule are available at the Indiana Department of Health website at https://www.in.gov/health/rules/rulesingov/. Pursuant to IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3)(before its amendment July 1, 2023), this rule amendment is a clarification of updated statutory requirements or updates required by IC 16-19-3-27.7, as added by HEA 1402 (P.L. 232-2023), so any increased cost is a result of the statute.
Copies of these rules and any documents used to determine justification for the requirements are now on file at the Office of Legal Affairs, Indiana Department of Health, 2 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection and copying.
