Notice of Expansion of Provider Ordering of Diabetes Self-Management Training
In accordance with public notice requirements established at 42 CFR 447.205, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) publishes this notice of proposed changes to list of providers who can order diabetes self-management training (DSMT) services. The public notice period will run September 1, 2021, through September 30, 2021.
FSSA – OMPP proposes to modify health care coverage by expanding the list of providers who can order diabetes self-management training under Indiana Medicaid. These changes will be effective December 1, 2021.
This SPA will update the State Plan to align the Indiana Administrative Code by adding providers to the list that are now authorized to order diabetes self-management training. These changes will add nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, and physician assistants to the list of providers who may order DSMT services. It is estimated that there will be no fiscal impact of these changes.
A copy of this notice is now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451 and is open for public inspection. Also, a copy of this notice is now available and may be inspected by contacting the local county Division of Family Resources (DFR) office, except in Marion County, where public inspection may be made at 402 W. Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.
