Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on January 8, 2019, at 9:40 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH), 1202 East 38th
Street, Discovery Hall Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, the BOAH will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that amends BOAH rules governing tuberculosis control in cattle and goats. The proposed rule amends
345 IAC 2.5-3 to remove from the definition of "test eligible cattle" the requirement that, when moving from modified accredited states or zones, cattle under two months of age must originate from a herd that had a negative tuberculosis herd test of all animals 12 months of age and older within the past year in order to be exempt from the definition. The proposed rule removes the requirement for a person to test sexually intact female cattle of dairy breeds, including dairy cross breeds, that are six months of age or older that originate from an accredited-free state or zone or a modified accredited advanced state or zone prior to movement into the state. Amends
345 IAC 2.5-3-4 and
345 IAC 2.5-4-4 to extend the validity of accredited herd status for cattle and goat herds from 365 days to 730 days from the date it is earned.
